The town of Velingrad
is the largest spa resort in Bulgaria. It is situated
amidst the wonderful natural surrounding of the Western
Rhodopi Mountain. The greatest treasure of the town are
the 80 mineral springs with a temperature
from 22 to 90 degrees. The town is prominent with the Kleptuza
phenomenon. Kleptuza is the biggest Karst spring
in Bulgaria. Every second it pours out 570 litres of icy
water, creating a couple of beautiful lakes Here summer
is cool, winter is mild and autumn is warm and pleasant.
