Day_1
: You
arrive in the capital Sofia, where our guide meets you and
bring you for accommodation in a nice 3 star hotel. As you
have just arrived in a country rich of folklore and culinary
specialties, we enjoy a nice folklore dinner in a typical
Bulgarian style restaurant |
Day_2
:
After breakfast we make a half day sightseeing tour of Sofia,
including “St. George and St. Sofia churches; Al.Nevski
Cathedral with the golden domes and the unique Icon- collection
in the Cript.
This day we see the biggest Monastery in Bulgaria –
Rila Monastery, an UNESCO protected monument. Here most of
the visitors you can feel the energy around the grave of Ivan
Rilski, the founder of the Monastery.
We end the day with a dinner and overnight in a hotel near
Rilski Monastery.

Day_3
:
After we see the beauty sunrise
above the Rila Monastery , we head to a very interesting and
fascinating place – Roupite. Here was the house of the
most popular Bulgarian phenomenon – Vanga. The completely
blind lady had the incredible faculty to cure people with
energy and foresee future. Vanga builded a chapel “St.Pe?ka
Bulgarian”, nowadays confirmed to be a place with enormous
energy radiation. We proceed to the smallest town of Bulgaria
– Melnik. The houses here perched one above the other
along both sides of a river, blending with the beauty of the
nature. The road leads us to the sand pyramids and to the
Rozhen Monastery with its well-preserved frescoes, stained
glasses and magnificent woodcarvings. We cannot miss the possibility
to try at dinner the famous red wine of the region. Overnight
in Melnik or Sandanski. |
Day_4
:
We take a beautiful winding
road through the mountain to reach two small village Kovachevitsa
and Lesten. Amazing with narrow coble streetjes; solid walls
of tall houses with grayish tiles, they are an architectural
wonder in stone. Less than 50 inhabitants, skillfully carved
church – time has slowed down here. The hotel for the
night is in Devin – a place famous with warm mineral
water and balneology. |

Day_5
:
On the way to the second
biggest city of Bulgaria – Plovdiv , we visit Bachkovo
Monastery – still one of the most beautiful and second
biggest monasteries /1083/. It is famous with the icon of
Virgin Marry, considered to be miraculous. Our trip brings
us to another mistic and impressiv place – Krastova
Gora (Cross forest). Legends say that on this holy place is
buried fragment of the Jesus’ Cross. Still many people
meet the sunrise here with the hope to be cured or blessed.
Dinner and overnight in Plovdiv

Day_6
:
Before lunch we enjoy the
beautiful old town of Plovdiv, which preserves the eternal
values of its six-millennia-long history. The old town is
fascinating with its Antique Theatre, cobbled lanes, Revival
architecture, charming houses with wooden ceilings and friezes,
colorful murals. Before crossing the Balkan mountain, we visit
the Shipka church, a Russian church with golden domes, recently
announced as monastery complex. Dinner and overnight in Gabrovo,
center of humor and jokes :) |

Day_7
:
In the morning we see the
architectural ethnographic complex Etara – it lives
the authentic life of a typical craftsmanship settlement from
the period of the Bulgarian Revival.
Our next stop are Drjanovo Monastery /12 century/ and Kilifarevo
Monastery – small monastery with beautiful iconostasis
and icons from famous icon-painters. Many people feel here
strange inspiration and energy. The overnight is in the town
with the most glorious historical past in Bulgaria - V.Tarnovo.

Day_8
: Time
for sightseeing V.Tarnovo, which has been the capital of the
Second Bulgarian Kingdom and prosper for more than two centuries.
On Tzarevetz hill, surrounded by solid walls and battle towers,
the royal palaces and patriarchal church rise proudly. Very
close to V.Tarnovo is the museum village Arbanassi. The houses
here resemble minor fortresses – high solid walls, heavy
gates, iron grids and secret hiding-places, but richly decorated
interior. One of the five preserved churches / The Birth of
Christ, 17th c./ is a genious art gallery of biblical scenes
with over 3.500 strikingly realistic figures.
At the end of the day we reach the Black sea and the summer
capital Varna

Day_9
: Today
we enjoy a day excursion to one of the oldest Europeans towns,
included in the List of World heritage – Nessebar. Situated
on a rocky peninsula, it keeps the marks of 3.000 years of
different civilizations. Some 40 surviving churches, made
of stone and adobe, they rival each other with their striking
decoration of motley-coloured ceramic rosettes, consoles and
arcades |
Day_10
: Our
trips ends here , full of magnificent nature sceneries, histories
of Monasteries and Churches, energy from ancient places !
But … you are welcome to prolong your holiday individually
on the Black sea coast with any of our summer hotels or at
your choice :) |
